The Avatr 07 Enters The Chinese Market With Six Variants, Featuring Both Battery Electric And Extended-Range Powertrains

Avatr Technology, the electric vehicle (EV) brand backed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, has officially launched its latest model, the Avatr 07, in China.
According to Avatr, the Avatr 07 is available in six variants: three BEVs and three EREVs. Notably, prices for these variants range from RMB 219,900 (around $31,360) to RMB 289,900 (around $41,400).
The Avatr 07’s BEV variant is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and comes in two configurations. The single-motor rear-wheel drive model boasts a peak power of 252 kW and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.
For those seeking more performance, the dual-motor all-wheel drive version adds a 188 kW front motor, reducing the 0 to 100 km/h time to just 3.9 seconds. Both BEV variants utilize an 82.16 kWh CATL Shenxing Battery with 4C fast-charging capability, offering CLTC ranges of 650 km (403 miles) for the RWD and 610 km (379 miles) for the AWD models.
The EREV variants employ the Kunlun extended-range system. The single-motor RWD configuration delivers 231 kW peak power and reaches 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. The dual-motor AWD version adds a 131 kW front motor, improving the 0-100 km/h time to 4.9 seconds. These models feature a 39.05 kWh LFP battery providing 220 km to 230 km (136 miles to 142 miles) of electric range. With a full fuel tank and charge, the EREV variants boast an impressive combined CLTC range of 1,050 km to 1,100 km (652 miles to 683 miles).

The Avatr 07 showcases advanced technology, including Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 autonomous driving system and a 192-channel LiDAR in some variants. The interior features a HarmonyOS 4.0 cockpit system with up to four screens, including a 15.6-inch central control screen and a 35.4-inch 4K display for rear passengers. The exterior is highlighted by a HALO interactive front LED display with 10,500 light beads.

Following the “Future Elegance” design philosophy, the Avatr 07 measures 4,825 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm. It’s available in five color options and comes with either 20 or 21-inch wheels. The EV offers ample storage with a 90L front trunk and rear cargo space ranging from 500L to 1325L. The suspension system combines all-aluminum dual-wishbone front and multi-link rear configurations, with adjustable air suspension and multiple driving modes available.

Avatr is positioning the 07 to compete with popular models like the Tesla Model Y. The company has ambitious plans for the future, including expanding its EREV lineup and launching 17 new products over the next three years. Moreover, Avatr aims to expand globally to 50 countries by 2025 and targets annual sales of 500,000 units by 2030.
The introduction of the Avatr 07 with several powertrain options reflects a broader trend in the Chinese EV market. Many early EV startups that initially focused solely on BEVs are now introducing hybrid models to address range anxiety and boost sales.
As Avatr begins deliveries of the 07 model, the industry will be watching closely to see how this new entrant performs in the competitive Chinese EV market and whether its dual powertrain strategy will pay off in increased market share.
