Audi has unveiled its latest addition to the electric vehicle (EV) market, the Q6 Sportback e-tron, with its global debut happening at the Paris Motor Show 2024.
According to Audi, the Q6 Sportback e-tron contains a sporty and progressive silhouette, merging Audi’s classic SUV appeal with a coupé-like roofline. This aerodynamic design, with a cd value of 0.26, contributes to its exceptaional range and efficiency. The EV’s exterior echoes iconic Audi elements, including influences from the first-generation TT Coupé.
The Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron offers a variety of powertrain options to cater to different driving needs. The lineup includes four variants, starting with an 83kWh battery paired with rear-wheel drive, providing a range of up to 545 km (334 miles). For those seeking more range, the 100kWh battery variant with rear-wheel drive extends the driving distance to 656 km (402 miles). There’s also a 100kWh all-wheel drive version, delivering a range of up to 636 km (390 miles), offering both power and efficiency for diverse driving conditions.
At the top of the range is the high-performance SQ6 Sportback e-tron, which produces 490PS and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds, while offering an impressive range of up to 607 km (377 miles). The Q6 Sportback e-tron is also equipped with 800-volt technology, enabling fast charging capabilities that can add up to 265 km (164 miles)of range in just 10 minutes, ensuring drivers can quickly recharge and get back on the road.
The interior of the Q6 Sportback e-tron is designed with both practicality and comfort in mind. It features a 511-liter luggage compartment, expandable to 1,373 liters with folded rear seats, and an optional 64-liter frunk. The long wheelbase of 2,899 millimeters ensures ample room for rear passengers.
Audi’s latest infotainment system, based on Android Automotive OS, is integrated into the vehicle. It includes a new digital assistant enhanced with ChatGPT capabilities, ensuring a seamless user experience. The optional augmented reality head-up display (AR HuD) projects essential information onto the windshield, creating an immersive driving experience.
The Q6 e-tron family has received a five-star Euro NCAP rating, with exceptional performance in Adult and Child Occupant Protection. Notably, it achieved the highest score in its class for Child Occupant Protection, offering three i-Size seats.
Moreover, manufacturing will take place at Audi’s main plant in Ingolstadt under net carbon-neutral conditions, underlining the company’s commitment to sustainability.
United Kingdom (UK) pricing for the Q6 Sportback e-tron starts from £62,475 (around $81,625), which is £2,500 (around $3,266) higher than the Q6 SUV e-tron. The model will be available in Sport, S line, and Edition 1 trim levels. Orders will open at the turn of the year 2024/2025, with first deliveries aimed in April 2025.
In the European market, prices start at €65,900 (around $71,747) for the entry-level 83 kWh battery variant with rear-wheel drive, ranging up to €96,200 (around $104,736) for the high-performance SQ6 Sportback e-tron.
