The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV marks a bold entry into the electric truck market, blending the rugged capability of the traditional Silverado with innovative electric power. Built for both work and adventure, this all-electric powerhouse offers an impressive range of up to 400 miles, remarkable towing capacity, and the latest tech features like hands-free driving. Whether you're hauling heavy loads or cruising city streets, the Silverado EV is ready to electrify the future of driving on the road.
The Silverado EV offers impressive performance across its various trims. The base Work Truck (WT) trim comes with a dual-motor system delivering 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. It provides all-wheel drive and offers solid performance, particularly for those using the truck for commercial or work purposes. The more premium RST First Edition trim boosts the performance even further, with a dual-motor setup producing up to 664 horsepower and over 780 lb-ft of torque. This trim also features a Boost Mode, allowing for even quicker acceleration, with the RST capable of hitting 0 to 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. Both trims offer an estimated range of 400 miles on a full charge and can tow between 8,000 and 10,000 pounds, depending on the configuration.
The 2024 Silverado EV delivers comfort levels that match its performance. The RST trim, in particular, is loaded with luxury touches such as leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic fixed-glass roof, offering an airy, premium feel inside the cabin. Both trims provide ample space, with seating for up to five passengers. The ride is smooth, thanks to adaptive air suspension (available on higher trims), which can adjust for improved handling and ride comfort. Despite being a workhorse truck, Chevrolet has ensured that the cabin remains quiet, with minimal noise intrusion, creating a peaceful and comfortable driving experience even on rough terrains.
The Silverado EV is packed with cutting-edge interior technology. The WT trim comes with a large touchscreen infotainment system, offering essential features like Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and smartphone integration. The RST takes it to another level, featuring a massive 17-inch touchscreen display for infotainment, paired with an 11-inch digital driver display for instrument readings. The RST also includes Super Cruise, GM's advanced hands-free driving system, which allows for hands-free operation on compatible highways. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a premium audio system are standard in the RST trim, ensuring that drivers and passengers stay connected and entertained.
At the heart of the Silverado EV is its Ultium battery platform, which allows for fast charging and extended range. The battery can deliver up to 400 miles of range on a full charge, making it competitive with other electric trucks on the market. The truck also supports DC fast charging of up to 350 kW, enabling drivers to add about 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging. The battery’s design allows for lower energy consumption per mile, contributing to the truck’s overall efficiency. Additionally, the Silverado EV supports vehicle-to-load charging, meaning it can supply power to external devices, which is particularly useful on job sites or during camping trips.
Standard on both trims are systems like automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision warning. The RST trim adds even more advanced safety tech, such as Super Cruise, which not only allows for hands-free driving but also includes lane-change automation and detailed monitoring of the vehicle’s surroundings. Other available safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system, providing enhanced visibility and assistance when parking or navigating tight spaces. These features work together to ensure that the Silverado EV offers top-tier safety for both urban and off-road driving.
