ZEEKR has officially launched its new 7X electric vehicle (EV) in China, with plans for global expansion within a year. The launch comes less than a month after its unveiling and has garnered close to 60,000 pre-orders placed in 20 days.
According to ZEEKR, the 7X starts at RMB 229,900 (around $32,500), positioning it competitively against rivals like the Tesla Model Y. The electric SUV is available in three variants, with prices ranging up to RMB 269,900 (around $38,273) for the top-tier model.
Key features of the ZEEKR 7X include a dual-motor variant that accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The 7X offers two battery options: a 75 kWh LFP battery offering 605 km (376 miles) CLTC range, and a 100 kWh NMC battery delivering up to 780 km (485 miles) CLTC range. Notably, the LFP battery is capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes. The 7X is built on an 800V high-voltage platform, enhancing its overall energy efficiency.
In terms of design, the ZEEKR 7X strikes a balance between a sleek exterior and a spacious interior that features premium NAPPA full-grain leather seats with 14 functions, including heating, ventilation, and six spa-grade massage settings.
The ZEEKR 7X features the world’s first child smart safety seat with active airbags, enhancing protection for younger passengers. An innovative emergency window-breaking function, activated by a hidden button, adds an extra layer of safety. The EV is also equipped with an advanced ensor suite including lidar, high-definition cameras, and millimeter-wave radars for its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Despite its luxury features and family-oriented design, the 7X is not limited to city driving. It offers impressive off-road capabilities with a ground clearance of 230mm. ZEEKR proudly notes that the 7X has even conquered Bilutu Peak, the highest fixed dune on Earth, demonstrating its versatility and robust performance in challenging terrains.
ZEEKR’s global plans are clear with the 7X. While deliveries in China are set to start by the end of September, the company plans to launch the 7X in global markets within a year. This move aligns with ZEEKR’s goal of delivering 230,000 units in 2024, signaling a significant production ramp-up.
As the second model targeting the mainstream EV market, following the ZEEKR 007 electric sedan, the 7X SUV represents a significant step in ZEEKR’s strategy to expand its user base.
With its combination of competitive pricing, impressive performance, advanced safety features, and luxury amenities, the ZEEKR 7X is set to make a strong entry into the global electric SUV market.
