Following the successful introduction of the Supernova 180 in North America, the Supernova 220 delivers a powerful 220 kW output, capable of adding up to 100 miles of range to a passenger EV in merely eight minutes. In a compact package with a footprint of only 3.48 square feet, this makes it one of the highest power-to-footprint ratio chargers available in the DC fast-charging market.

Moreover, Wallbox’s Supernova 220 is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing it to charge one EV at the full 220 kW or two EVs simultaneously at 110 kW each. As a result, this versatility makes it an appealing option for a wide range of locations from places that possess high-volume of EV owners to places that do not.

Till Wilmschen, Director of DC fast charging at Wallbox, expressed the importance of this new offering at different sites stating, “At Wallbox, our aim is to ensure that EV charging is simple and accessible to all drivers. Supernova 220 fills the current need for High Power Charging sites, capable of providing 10 to 15-minute charging times for passenger EVs, as well as serving the high power charging demands for fleets, electric trucks, buses, and heavy goods vehicles.”

Notably, the Supernova 220 is fully compliant with the latest Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), featuring prominently displayed metering windows and DC metering options. Also, its award-winning design allows for custom branding, making it more presentable to visible public locations.

With Wallbox already established a strong presence in the DC fast charging market with over 2,000 chargers sold in more than 30 countries, the introduction of the Supernova 220 will expand its lineup while offering charge point operators a broader range of power options to suit various site requirements without compromising on reliability or user experience. By offering faster charging times and improved efficiency with Wallbox in mind will enhance the EV ownership experience and contribute to the transition to electric mobility.
