Volkswagen is set to introduce its most powerful electric vehicles (EVs) to date in the United Kingdom (UK) market with its new ID.7 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer models.

According to Volkswagen, The ID.7 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer are priced from £61,980 ($79,556) and £62,670 ($80,442) respectively, positioning them as premium offerings in Volkswagen’s EV lineup. The ID.7 GTX delivers an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, while the Tourer model reaches the same feat in 5.5 seconds.

Both GTX models come with an 86 kWh (net) battery, similar to the ID.7 Pro S Match derivatives. However, the addition of a front motor increases the power output to 340 PS (335 horsepower), a major 54 PS (53 horsepower) boost over the standard models. This improvement also introduces 4MOTION all-wheel drive (AWD) to the ID.7 range for the first time.

As for the range and charging capabilities, the ID.7 GTX delivers an estimated range of 366 miles, while the ID.7 GTX Tourer offers 359 miles. Both EV models support fast charging at up to 200 kW DC, allowing for a 10% to 80% battery charge in just 26 minutes.

Moreover, Volkswagen’s GTX models come with a host of premium features, including 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels, ventilated and heated massage front seats, heated rear seats, and a Harman Kardon sound system. They also feature Volkswagen’s DCC adaptive chassis control system, IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, and an augmented-reality head-up display.

In addition, Volkswagen’s GTX models will include the IDA voice assistant with integrated ChatGPT and the optional Park Assist Pro feature, which allows drivers to control parking procedures using a smartphone.

Recently, Volkswagen revealed additions of its ID.7 Pro S Match models in both fastback and Tourer configurations to its ID.7 EV lineup in the UK market. With these new additions to the ID.7 range, Volkswagen is elevating its position in the UK market, which aligns with the company’s ACCELERATE strategy.
