ZEEKR has unveiled its latest electric vehicle (EV), the ZEEKR 7X, at the Chengdu Motor Show. This family-focused electric SUV is set to challenge both domestic and international competitors with its blend of advanced technology, spacious design, and competitive pricing.

According to ZEEKR, the new EV model measures 4,825mm in length, 1,930mm in width, and 1,656mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,925mm. These proportions translate into a roomy interior that ZEEKR claims provides exceptional headroom and legroom compared to existing midsize SUVs. The EV’s family-friendly design is evident in its 32 ergonomic storage compartments and a generous 616-liter trunk.

Performance is a key highlight of the 7X, with ZEEKR announcing an exceptional 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.8 seconds. The SUV offers two battery options to suit different driving needs: a 75kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery providing a CLTC range of 605 km (375 miles), and a larger 100kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack extending the range to 780 km (484 miles). Notably, the LFP trim comes with impressive charging speeds, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in a mere 10.5 minutes.

As for technological features, the ZEEKR 7X includes dual Nvidia Orin-X SoCs, LiDAR, high-definition cameras, and millimeter-wave radars. These components work together to provide advanced driver assistance capabilities. The infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm 8295 chipset.

The introduction of the 7X is part of ZEEKR’s EV strategy to expand its presence in the mainstream EV market. The company has shown strong growth as it reported record-breaking deliveries of 54,811 EVs in Q2, marking a 100% year-over-year increase and a 66% rise from the previous quarter. As a result, the company’s efforts are reflected in the industry.

With a pre-sale starting price of RMB 239,000 (around $33,680) for the ZEEKR 7X, the company has announced that deliveries will start in China by the end of September 2024, with a global rollout projected within the following year. The official launch is scheduled for September 20, 2024.
