Škoda has unveiled the first exterior sketches of its highly anticipated all-electric vehicle (EV) in a compact SUV, the Elroq. Revealed on World EV Day, the Elroq marks a major milestone for Škoda as the first production model to showcase its new Modern Solid design language.

Striking Design and Innovative Features

According to Škoda, the exterior sketches of the Elroq unveil a sleek and futuristic design that marks a departure from its predecessors. One of the most notable features is the Tech-Deck Face, which replaces the traditional Škoda grille with a more modern and distinctive appearance.

The Elroq also introduces split headlights equipped with Matrix LED technology, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and functionality. The Škoda lettering is prominently displayed in Unique Dark Chrome on the bonnet, adding a touch of sophistication.

To emphasize its adventurous spirit, the Elroq features rugged bumpers that contribute to its bold look. Additionally, the vehicle is offered in a new Timiano Green color, which is exclusive to the Elroq and adds a unique flair to its exterior design.

Karl Neuhold, Head of Exterior Design at Škoda Auto, emphasized that the Elroq “embodies our new Modern Solid design language” and is designed to appeal to both urban drivers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Elroq, built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, aims to provide a blend of performance and practicality. Customers will have the option to choose from three different battery packs: 55 kWh, 63 kWh, and 82 kWh. With the largest battery, the Elroq offers an impressive WLTP range of up to 560 kilometers.

In terms of powertrain options, the Elroq can be configured with either a single or dual motor setup, delivering power outputs that range from 168 horsepower to 295 horsepower. Inside, the Elroq features a spacious five-seater cabin, complemented by 470 liters of cargo space, making it a practical choice for families and adventurers alike.

The Elroq’s interior will feature sustainable material including recycled post-consumer clothing and eco-friendly fabrics. There are also four interior themes: Loft, Lodge, Suite, and Studio. Moreover, there also will be a modern digital cockpit with the latest Volkswagen Group technology.

With the Elroq promises to deliver on Škoda’s reputation for practicality and innovation, the success of the EV model in market will be seen in comparison to the brand’s traditional offerings. The official debut of the Škoda Elroq is scheduled for October, with more details expected to be released in the coming weeks.
