The Ram 1500 REV, first introduced during the 2024 Super Bowl, is set to make an impact in the electric pickup market. It offers two battery options: a 168 kWh battery with a targeted range of 350 miles and a larger 229 kWh battery with a range of up to 500 miles. The EV contains a towing capacity of up to 14,000 lbs and a maximum payload of 2,700 lbs. It also supports 800V fast charging, allowing it to add around 110 miles of range in just 10 minutes. While official pricing for the Ram 1500 REV has not been announced, it’s projected to start at upwards of $60,000.

Following the launch of the REV, Ram plans to introduce the 2025 1500 Ramcharger, an extended-range hybrid EV model. Built on the STLA Frame architecture designed for full-size EVs, the Ramcharger’s performance includes a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, 663 horsepower, and over 615 lbs-feet of torque. Like the fully electric REV, it maintains a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds.

Moreover, Stellantis is backing these developments with substantial investments in EV production. The company is investing over $406 million to retool three Michigan plants for EV manufacturing. The Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) will be the first in the U.S. to build the all-electric Ram 1500 REV. In addition, nearly $100 million has been allocated to the Warren Truck Assembly Plant for production of Jeep’s first global EV, the Wagoneer S.

Looking ahead, Ram’s EV strategy continues to evolve. A mid-size electric pickup is in development, though its production has been delayed until 2027. Meanwhile, the electric ProMaster van, which went into production in 2024, is designed for urban use with a targeted range of 162 miles for city driving.

With these ambitious plans and notable specs, Ram is positioning itself as a serious contender in the electric pickup market. As the launch date approaches, all eyes will be on Ram to see if it can deliver on its promises and carve out its share of this increasingly competitive EV market.
