The 2025 Polestar 3 Variant Offers 350 Miles Of Range And Premium Features With Deliveries Beginning In Q1 2025
Polestar has introduced a new variant of its flagship Polestar 3 electric vehicle (EV). The single-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model offers a compelling combination of affordability and efficiency, making it an attractive option for buyers.
The 2025 Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor is now available for order, with deliveries set to begin in Q1 2025. This new variant starts at $68,900, including destination charges, representing a $6,400 discount compared to the base all-wheel-drive Polestar 3 model.
Despite the reduced powertrain complexity, the single-motor Polestar 3 delivers impressive performance and range. The electric motor produces 299 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque, enabling a 0 to 60 mph sprint in 7.5 seconds.
More importantly, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor is estimated to have a driving range of 350 miles, according to the EPA – a significant improvement over the 315-mile range of the all-wheel-drive model.
“The addition of the Long-range Single motor to the Polestar 3 lineup is significant for our brand, with up to 350 miles of electric range, a new entry-level starting price, and now additional charging options, customers should feel more confident than ever in choosing Polestar,” stated Anders Gustafsson, Head of Polestar North America.
The single-motor variant retains the same 111-kWh battery pack and 250 kW peak charging rate as its all-wheel-drive (AWD) counterpart. Buyers can also expect the Polestar 3’s acclaimed handling, smooth ride, and premium interior to carry over to this more affordable model.
Standard features on the single-motor Polestar 3 include a 360-degree camera system with 3D view and semi-autonomous driving capabilities with lane-change assist. Buyers can also opt for additional premium upgrades, such as a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, active noise cancellation, and a head-up display.
Compared to the Polestar 2, the single-motor Polestar 3 is only $2,700 more expensive, despite being a significantly larger and more capable vehicle. This pricing strategy positions the Polestar 3 as an attractive alternative to more premium electric SUVs.
However, it is worth noting that neither the Polestar 2 nor the Polestar 3 are eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit, as they are not assembled in the United States (U.S.). Leasing the Polestar 3, however, could still allow customers to benefit from the tax credit.
The introduction of the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor marks an important milestone for the company, offeringcustomers a more affordable and efficient option within the Polestar 3 lineup. With this new variant, Polestar is prepared to attract a wider range of buyers seeking a premium electric SUV experience.
