Lotus has announced the local homologation certification for two of its high-performance electric vehicles (EVs): the Eletre SUV and the Emeya GT Sedan in the GCC region.

According to Lotus, this milestone clears the way for the company to begin deliveries of the Eletre SUV, which started in Q2 this year, and to open reservations for the Emeya GT Sedan.

The Eletre, a 5.1-meter E-class SUV, delivers up to 905 horsepower and can reach speeds of up to 265 km/h (164 mph), depending on regional specifications. This model has already earned prestigious accolades including the “SUV of the Year” award from GQ and the “Lifestyle Car of the Year” award from Quattroruote in 2023 and 2024.

The Emeya, a 5.1-meter E-class GT Sedan, matches the Eletre’s 905 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 256 km/h (159 mph). This model has also been recognized for its design, winning the Red Dot Product Design Award in 2024.

Both the Eletre and Emeya models are optionally equipped with state-of-the-art hardware that supports end-to-end intelligent driving services. These services, provided by Lotus Robotics, a subsidiary of Lotus Tech, can be updated over-the-air (OTA).

Lotus Robotics has a proven track record of delivering comprehensive intelligent driving solutions to leading global OEMs including advanced platform software, cloud toolchains, integrated hardware and software development, and intelligent driving operation solutions.

Expanding Lotus’ Presence in the Region

To support the launch of these award-winning models, Lotus is establishing new showrooms and stores in key cities across the GCC region. This will allow buyers to experience the driving dynamics and control from Lotus EVs as well as explore personalization and customization options including reservations for limited-edition models.

“The GCC region has always been a key market for Lotus, given the brand’s long-standing racing heritage,” stated Qingfeng Feng, CEO of Lotus Tech. “This represents a significant step in our global expansion and aligns with our goal to bring award-winning models with best-in-class driving experiences and advanced technologies to passionate drivers.”

As a result, this expansion into the GCC region marks a new milestone for Lotus as it continues to grow its presence in markets known for their appreciation of heritage luxury brands, racing DNA, and cutting-edge technologies. The availability of the Eletre and Emeya models in the region will further strengthen the company’s position as a leader in the intelligent luxury mobility space.
