The 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST has now started production at the General Motors (GM) Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan, which is a $2.2 billion investment plant designed for electric vehicle (EV) production. The company previously revealed its specs, where the Silverado EV First Edition RST comes with an estimated 440 miles of range.

As aforementioned, the 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST provides an EPA-estimated 450-mile range on a full charge for the 4WT model and a GM-estimated 440-mile range for the RST. As a result, the 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST sets a new benchmark for long-range EVs in its class. In addition to its performance, it delivers up to 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Regarding acceleration, it comes with an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds according to GM. 

Kathy Gillespie, Silverado EV chief engineer, expressed the long-range capabilities of the 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST stating, “The Silverado EV RST is a long-range, fast charging electric truck that does all the ‘truck things’ customers want and more. It can tow, haul and carry passengers comfortably. With 754 horsepower, it also happens to be the most powerful Silverado we’ve ever built.”

Other capabilities include its charging, where it features a standard DC fast charging with up to 350kW and optional offboard power of up to 10.2kW. As for power, the 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST can tow a maximum of 10,000 lbs and has a payload capacity of 1,500 lbs. Other capabilities include a four-wheel steer for enhanced maneuverability, adaptive air suspension for a smooth ride, and a Multi-Flex Midgate that expands cargo capability while maintaining rear-row seating according to GM. 

As for the interior, the 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST has a 17-inch infotainment screen paired with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a multi-color driver head-up display. Moreover, there is also GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance system implemented in the Silverado EV First Edition RST. 

With production underway for the 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST, Chevrolet will be bringing new attention to this electric truck based on its long range and offers of different ranges of trims that suit different preferences. The 2024 Silverado EV First Edition RST will assembled domestically with globally sourced parts and will be priced at $94,500.
