Ford has announced that its 2025 E-Transit electric vehicle (EV) will be priced on par with its gasoline counterpart. The electric van, starting at $51,000, comes with substantial incentives and new industry-specific configurations designed to appeal to various trade professionals.

Pricing and Incentives

According to Ford, the base E-Transit van’s $51,000 price tag matches that of comparable gas-powered Transit models, while the Chassis Cab and Cutaway variants start at $46,200 and $47,700 respectively. Beyond the competitive base pricing, buyers and businesses can benefit from the $7,500 federal tax credit for commercial vehicles, a $2,000 rebate toward charging infrastructure installation, and up to 48% reduction in scheduled maintenance costs.

New Trade-Specific Packages

Ford has introduced four new trade-specific factory-installed packages designed to meet the unique needs of different industries. The Electrician Package is priced at $4,370 and includes specialized drawers, bins for parts storage, and a wire reel management system. The HVAC Package, costing $4,440, features large shelves, storage bins, and refrigerant storage systems specifically for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning professionals.

The General Contractor Package, available for $2,900, provides multipurpose shelves, bins, drawers, and hooks to accommodate a variety of contractor needs. Lastly, the Foldable Shelving Package, priced at $3,300, is tailored for delivery services, offering deep, large-capacity folding shelves for better cargo management.

In terms of technical specifications, the 2025 E-Transit continues to utilize an 89-kilowatt-hour battery pack paired with a rear-mounted electric motor. This setup delivers 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The range varies depending on the roof height, with low-roof models offering an estimated 159 miles, medium-roof models providing 148 miles, and high-roof models delivering 143 miles.

Moreover, the E-Transit supports AC charging up to 19.2 kW, allowing a full charge in approximately six hours on an 80-amp circuit. Additionally, DC fast charging capabilities up to 176 kW enable 67 miles of range to be added in just 15 minutes.

New Features and Options

Several new features and options are also available for the 2025 model. These include a Wall Liner Kit for regular or long-length body types and a Large Grab Handles Kit to facilitate easier rear access. An Optional Mobile Power Cord is now compatible with Tesla Superchargers, providing more flexibility in charging options. The Smart Acceleration Truncation feature improves load management, ensuring smoother performance when carrying heavy cargo.

Finally, 180-degree opening doors come standard on low- and medium-roof models, with the option to upgrade to 253-degree opening doors on all variants for enhanced access.

A New EV Option for Businesses

“We’re giving customers the freedom to choose the powertrain that works best for their business,” said Ford, emphasizing that with incentives and lower operating costs, the electric version offers compelling value compared to its gasoline counterpart.

With the 2025 Ford E-Transit now available for order, the new electric van is positioning itself as an increasingly attractive option for businesses looking to transition to EVs without paying a premium over conventional alternatives.
