Alef’s Manufacturing Partnerships Paves The Way For Mass Production Of Model A Flying EV By 2025

In a significant step towards making flying electric vehicles (EVs) a reality, Alef Aeronautics has announced a mass manufacturing agreement for its Model A after surpassing 3,200 pre-orders.
According to Alef, the company has signed an agreement with a joint venture between PUCARA Aero and MYC to produce aviation-grade, certifiable parts for the Model A. These companies bring experience in manufacturing components for companies such as Boeing and Airbus.
Jim Dukhovny, CEO of Alef, emphasized the importance of this partnership stating, “Safety is our number one priority, so we chose PUCARA Aero and MYC for their impeccable safety record and compliance with major aviation authorities.” The parts will be designed to meet certification requirements from the FAA, EASA, and other relevant aviation authorities.
Alef’s Model A is pioneering the concept of a true flying car. Unlike other eVTOL (electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) vehicles, the Model A is designed to be both a road-legal car and a fully electric flying vehicle.
This innovative flying EV features a 100% electric powertrain, allowing for an impressive 200-mile driving range and a 110-mile flight range. It is designed to take off and land vertically, making it a versatile option for both terrestrial and aerial travel.
The company aims to begin production in Q4 2025, with deliveries starting shortly after. The Model A is priced at $300,000, positioning it as a luxury item but potentially within reach for early adopters and enthusiasts.
Alef’s vision has clearly captured the public’s imagination. Since opening pre-orders in October 2022, the company has secured over 3,200 reservations. This translates to a potential revenue of more than $950 million once the vehicles are delivered.
Interested buyers can reserve their spot in the queue with a refundable $150 deposit, or opt for priority placement with a $1,500 deposit. This tiered approach has helped Alef gauge interest and secure funding for development.
Notably, Alef’s Model A became the first vehicle of its kind to receive a Special Airworthiness Certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. This certification marks a crucial steptowards the eventual commercialization of flying EVs.
While the Model A represents Alef’s current focus, the company is already looking ahead by announcing plans for a second flying EV, the “Model Z,” a four-door electric flying car expected to launch in 2035 with a starting price of just $35,000.
With Alef’s progress being closely watched by both the automotive and aviation industries, the company’s success in bringing road-legal flying EVs to market could revolutionize personal transportation, where the dream of flying cars is transitioning from science fiction to impending reality.
