You may qualify for a credit up to $7,500 if you lease a new, qualified plug-in electric vehicle. The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 changed the rules for this credit for vehicles leased from 2023 to 2032. The tax credit for leased vehicles is not received directly by the customer, but rather is passed through to the customer by the dealership.

If you drive a vehicle that meets certain emissions standards and other criteria, you may be able to get Clean Air Vehicle (CAV) decals and a CAV decal identification (ID) card, which allow single occupancy use of High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV, or carpool) lanes.

The new Driving Clean Assistance Program (DCAP) will provide incentives for eligible low-income consumers to purchase or lease of a new or used clean vehicle – up to $14,000 when scrapping an older vehicle and living in a disadvantaged community or up to $7,500 when not scrapping an older vehicle. The program will also provide access to low-interest rate loans capped at 8%, opportunities for mobility options such as transit passes or e-bikes. Currently only accepting applications from Imperial County.  Other counties eligible Q4 2024 and Q1 2025.

Driving Clean Assistance Program

The PACE Loss Reserve Program administered by the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA) works with partners and lenders to support PACE financing for energy or water efficiency and clean energy home improvements. Property owners in a PACE-designated area can use PACE financing for the above home improvements without a down payment and repayment included in their property tax bills. PACE Loss Reserve Program

Eligible LADWP residential customers may receive a rebate of up to $1,000 for the purchase and installation of a qualified Level 2 charger and up to $250 for the installation of a dedicated EV meter. Customers participating in LADWP's Lifeline or EZ-SAVE Low-Income Customer Assistance (EZ-SAVE) Program are eligible for an additional $500 rebate.

South Coast AQMD offers the Residential Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Incentive Program for low-income residents within the agency’s four-county jurisdiction. The program provides a rebate that can reduce the cost of installing Level 2 (240V) residential chargers.
