Sepion Technologies has unveiled a new AI-driven and non-flammable liquid electrolyte that is designed to alleviate the risk of fires for electric vehicles (EVs). With this new breakthrough from the company, the safety standards applied to EVs are now pushing new boundaries for the EV industry.
The notable features of Sepion Technologies’ new electrolyte possess exceptional safety features that exceed the standard results in flammability testing for common electrolytes. The result of the new electrolyte reports a flash point that surpasses 70°C with a self-extinguishing time that is 25 times better than commercial counterparts according to Sepion Technologies. With these results, this new innovation will certainly cut down the probability and severity of battery-related fires.
Other attributes that the new electrolyte provides are performance benefits that support 3C fast charging and compatibility with lithium-metal anodes. With these new attributes, the compatibility can see a 40% increase in range for EVs along with faster charging.

With the AI-driven platform being utilized by Sepion Technologies, the process of material discovery was able to quickly analyze up to 10 million formulations in just one week according to Sepion Technologies.
