Acura Starts First Customer Deliveries For Its 2024 ZDX Model Trims

The 2024 Acura ZDX Type S Boasts 499 Horsepower and 544 lb-ft Of Torque

Acura has started deliveries for its first customer and also released the specs for its high-performance electric vehicle (EV): 2024 Acura ZDX. This marks the 2024 Acura ZDX as the company’s first EV in its Type S performance trim, while it also marks the company’s venture into electric mobility. Furthermore, the Acura 2024 ZDX comes with three different trims: A-Spec rear-wheel-drive (RWD), A-Spec all-wheel-drive (AWD), and Type S. Each trim delivers different results that match each preference with the Type S being the most powerful trim for the ZDX.

The 2024 Acura ZDX is built on General Motors’ Ultium EV platform and in its basic trim of the A-Spec RWD boasts 358 horsepower with 324 lb-ft of torque while its highest trim of the Type S boasts 499 horsepower with 544 lb-ft of torque. As for the A-Spec AWD, it has 490 horsepower with 437 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, the A-Spec RWD only comes in a single-motor, whereas the A-Spec AWD and Type S comes with a dual-motor layout. As a result, the max towing capacity of the ZDX is 3,500 lbs.

In terms of range, the lowest range in the ZDX is its Type S trim with 278 miles and the highest range in the ZDX is its A-Spec RWD trim with 313 miles. The A-Spec AWD trim has 304 miles of range. The results for this is based on high-performance EVs exuding faster acceleration, which requires more energy that cuts down the EV’s range. Charging wise, the ZDX delivers 72 to 8 miles from a DC fast charging of 10 minutes depending on different trims.

Hands Free Cruise Feature

A certain feature of the 2024 Acura ZDX worth noting is the Hands Free Cruise, which is Acura’s version of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. With results of the ZDX’s Hands Free Cruise being reliable on lane positioning and automatic lane changes, it is only available on the Type S trim. Other features of the ZDX include, Forward Collision Alert, Surround Vision System, Surround Vision System, and Theft-Deterrent System with Electronic Immobilizer.

Interior and Exterior Design

Visually, the exterior design of the 2024 Acura ZDX has the Acura signature aesthetic with sleek lines and the signature shield-shaped front grille. With its panoramic moonroof with tilt and slide function, Jewel Eye LED headlights, and Chicane LED taillights. the ZDX sets itself apart with unique proportions, standing 3 inches lower and boasting an 8-inch longer wheelbase compared to its gas counterpart, the MDX midsize crossover.

As for the interior, the ZDX possesses a functional space with premium materials and advanced technology at every turn. An 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Google Assistant and support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensures seamless connectivity on the go. Other interior technological aspects include a digital rearview mirror, a head-up display, heated rear seats, and a third climate zone with rear HVAC controls.

The 2024 Acura ZDX’s capabilities does not fully standout to other EVs in the market, but it is interesting to note that all trims in this model qualifies for the federal EV tax credit. With a starting price of $73,500 for the Type S trim, the price is cut dow to $66,000 after the full deduction from the tax credit amount.
