Volkswagen Launches The ID.3 GTX Performance In The UK For £46,225

The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Performance Comes With Up To 369 Miles And Capable Of Reaching A Top Speed Of 124 MPH

Volkswagen is set to electrify the hot hatch market with its latest electric vehicle (EV) offering, the ID.3 GTX Performance. Volkswagen’s latest EV for the United Kingdom (UK) market is priced at £46,225 ($60,940), including VAT.

According to Volkswagen, the ID.3 GTX Performance arrives with exceptional performance specifications that set it apart in the UK EV market. With 326 horsepower and 545 Nm of torque, the ID.3 GTX Performance can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds. Also, it can reach a top speed of 124 mph, which has been increased from 99 mph. 

As for its battery, the ID.3 GTX Performance possesses an 84 kWh gross (79 kWh net) capacity. As a result, it can provide an estimated range of 369 miles. In terms of charging capabilities, the EV model can charge from 10% to 80% in 26 minutes at 185 kW DC charging stations. 

Kai Grünitz, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Technical Development, expressed the EV’s significance stating, “The ID.3 GTX Performance is, for me, the electric counterpart to the Golf GTI Clubsport. Driving pleasure is guaranteed.”

In terms of its design, the ID.3 GTX Performance distinguishes itself with several design elements including a GTX-specific front bumper with a black air intake in a diamond-style design and high-gloss black body elements. It also isdesigned with performance in mind with its 20-inch Skagen black alloy wheels, a refreshed rear with a new diffuser, sports suspension, and adaptive dampers with dynamic chassis control.

For the interior, the ID.3 GTX Performance comes with premium ergoActive sports seats with red decorative stitching, a GTX multi-function steering wheel, and a GTX-specific cockpit surface. Other features include a Harman Kardon sound system and an augmented-reality head-up display. 

As the ID.3 GTX Performance enters the UK market as Volkswagen’s first electric hot hatch, it joins the GTX lineup that includes models like the ID.7, ID Buzz, ID.4, and ID.5. Notably, Volkswagen had recently launched the ID.3 GTX Performance in Germany with a starting price of €50,795 ($55,498).

With 394,000 EVs delivered worldwide and 162,087 new vehicles registered in the UK for 2023, the ID.3 GTX Performance represents Volkswagen’s goal to transferring its nearly 50-year tradition of compact GT models into the path of electric mobility, promising an exciting driving experience for EV enthusiasts.

Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Performance will be available for order from August 29, 2024, at Volkswagen UK Retailers.
