VinFast has reached a new milestone by becoming the world’s first automotive company to integrate Sony’s RIDEVU entertainment system into its electric vehicles (EVs). Through this new innovative integration of Sony’s RIDEVU, VinFast’s EVs will have an even more elevated driving experience than before. 

RIDEVU is developed by Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) and offers access to a manifold selection of over 2,000 movies. This RIDEVU integration is for now only applied to VinFast’s VF 8 model in the United States (U.S.), as it is the first EV in the company’s lineup to feature this entertainment system. Also, RIDEVU will be included in the company’s VF Connect Prime package. 

In detail, through an over-the-air (OTA) software update version the VF 8 will contain RIDEVU’s extensive library of movies for 12 months. There will also be unlimited replays of up to 100 movies. You can also access premium movies by redeeming credits, purchasing, or renting through RIDEVU. 

Furthermore, the Screen Manager feature brings full control over playback on all connected displays including in-car displays and brought-in devices with parental controls accessible from the VF 8’s dashboard. Notably, you can only watch movies through RIDEVU in the VF 8 while parked for safety measures, but passengers can watch movies while the EV is in motion through the Screen Manager feature on their mobile devices.

As VinFast is heightening its position in the EV industry, the latest integration of RIDEVU in its VF 8 is a step forward as the company continues to expand its presence in the global EV market. For now, the VF 8 is available at a starting price of $47,200 including Sony’s RIDEVU.
