The Xingyuan, whose Chinese name translates to “Wish Upon a Star,” is Geely’s first compact EV designed to appeal to young and first-time EV buyers. With its spacious design and modern features, the Xingyuan arrives with notable specifications with dimensions measured in 4,135 mm length, 1,805 mm width, 1,570 mm height, and a 2,650 mm wheelbase.

For the entry-level Geome Xingyuan, it comes with 78 horsepower (58 kW) with a top speed of 125 km/h (77 mph). With the higher variant, it delivers 114 horsepower (85 kW) with a top speed of 135 km/h (83 mph). As for battery options, it contains CATL’s LFP batteries including a 30.12 kWh capacity with a 310 km (192 miles) CLTC range and a 40.15 kWh capacity with a 410 km (254 miles) CLTC range.

In terms of design, the Geome Xingyuan features a sleek body design with fine lines, unique headlights, and a black roof for a sporty look. For the interior, there is a touch-screen dashboard, wireless mobile charging, and the Flyme Auto OS, which offers high integration with Meizu phones and a built-in AI assistant.

While pricing details are yet to be officially announced, it has been suggested that the Geome Xingyuan could start at around 80,000 yuan (around $11,250 USD). This competitive pricing strategy positions it slightly below BYD’s Seagull, which starts at 69,800 yuan for its basic version.

As Geely prepares to launch the Xingyuan later this year, all eyes will be on how it performs against established players like BYD in the competitive Chinese EV market. With its combination of modern design, advanced features, and competitive pricing, the success of the Geome Xingyuan could also signal a resurgence for Geely’s Geome brand.
