Geely Auto made an influential impact at Automechanika Frankfurt, one of the world’s leading automotive trade fairs, by showcasing its latest lineup of pure electric vehicles (EVs).

Automechanika Frankfurt, which kicked off on September 10 and drew participants from 175 countries, served as a platform for Geely to reinforce its aim for global expansion and electrification.

Victor Yang, Senior Vice President of Geely Holding Group, expressed the company’s vision at the event stating, “As an inclusive, surprising and uplifting brand, Geely inspires individuals to ‘See the World in Full’. We are not just making cars, we’re creating a better way of living, elevating the mobility experience without compromise.”

According to Geely, the star of the company’s showcase was the EX5, making its global debut at Automechanika. Built on the Geely Electric Architecture (GEA), the EX5 features a minimalist design that appeals to buyers worldwide. Available in both left-hand drive (LHD) and right-hand drive (RHD) versions, the EX5 meets regulatory requirements in 89 countries. 

Alongside the EX5, Geely also presented two other models that garnered significant attention. The E8, Geely’s flagship pure electric sedan, features the world’s first mass-produced integrated luminous front face created with patented “micro hole laser engraving” technology. The E8 has already collected several prestigious design awards, including the 2024 A’ Design Award Platinum, IDA Design Award, IF Design Award, Muse Design Award, and Red Dot Award.

The third EV model is the Xingyuan, which is an A0-class pure electric small SUV that expands Geely’s lineup of high-value electrified products. It has an independent suspension system for enhanced ride comfort and a rear-wheel-drive configuration. It offers a maximum driving range of up to 410 km (254 miles).

The introduction of the EX5, E8, and Xingyuan not only showcases Geely’s technological commitment but also reinforces its position in the global EV market with more EV offerings in its lineup on a global scale. 

These new models underline Geely’s accelerating push into the global mainstream new energy vehicle (NEV) market. Recently, the company’s goal for international expansion is evident in its recent growth in key markets including the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. In the first half of the year alone, Geely launched 12 high-value products across 30 overseas markets.

As Geely continues to expand its presence in international markets, with a particular focus on regions like Norway, Australia, Thailand, and Indonesia, the unveiling of these new EVs at Automechanika Frankfurt serves as a clear statement of the company’s intentions.
